Here at Juarez, we have several opportunities for students to participate in extra-curricular athletic activities.
* There is no charge to participate, but students will be charged a $50 replacement fee for uniforms that aren't returned or are returned damaged.
* Coaches may also ask for monies or fundraising for medals, certificates, trips, t-shirts, etc.
* Seasons are 7 weeks long.
* Coaches will set practice times for their teams. If there is a conflict in attending practices &/or games then students should not participate.
* Once the teams have been selected, an eligibility sheet that displays student grades will be generated. If a student has any F's, then they are ineligible for the next week's game. They may practice, but not participate in the game. If a student is ineligible more than twice during a season, then they will be removed from the team.
* After the fall season, any student with a GPA below 2.0 will be unable to try out for a team until their GPA is at 2.0 or above. In addition to the academic requirements, students must have the following on file:
1) A current physical, within 395 days, on file with the nurse.
2) A permission to participate form filled out for every sport a child plays, that MUST have insurance information.
3) A signed waiver releasing the district from liability in event of injury.
4) The signed parent-athlete code of conduct form that will be given at the parent meeting before the beginning of the season.
* More information will be forthcoming from your child's coach as their season approaches. You can contact Mr. January, the Athletic Coordinator, by email [email protected] or by phone @ 847-599-4200.
